Flatplans and Shot List - Edited for what I was able to fulfil...
This colour is updates of what I was able to film...
Flatplans for my music video:
Begin with Scarlett in the studio.
I was able to film Theo within a party setting with his 2 friends.
During this time, I ensured Theo (akin to the lyrics) was the centre of attention - "Everybody loves the things you do", and "Everybody here is watching you".
I plan to add in Scarlett singing in the studio and various locations at this time too...
I successfully filmed Scarlett and Theo watching a movie together (13 Going on 30 - as an intertextual reference of growing up in love together) and Scarlett and Theo listening to music with connected earphones.
I have identical scenes with my talent of different ages that I plan to use to show the passage of time, these locations (as planned), include: the beach, eating ice cream on the seafront etc.
I have filmed a scene of Scarlett photographing Theo while he is sitting on a bench with the sunlight on him, this is also an example of screen-through-screens.
Once again during this section of lyrics I plan to feature my talents (of all ages) to create deeper meaning.
I will use Scarletts studio shoot (following genre conventions) for these lyrics.
I have filmed Scarlett ticking off on her calendar (with multiple angles) her 'Audition' day
and walking down to the station.
Following my plan, I successfully filmed Scarlett and Theo at the train station on different platforms.
I filmed Scarlett alone in my bedroom (surrounded by intertextual references, eg. Little Women and Vogue editions) lip-syncing the lyrics and messaging Theo as planned.
Following my motif of passage of time, I have filmed my Nana and Grandad looking through a photo album of their 'younger selves', that I hope to then cut to the 'present' time.
Instead of this, I would like to play more into the nostalgic effect of my music video, utilising the genre being pop ballads. I have a plethora of videos and hope to create a montage, possibly featuring some slow motion shots etc.
Cyclical structure - end with Scarlett in the studio.
(helps to ground the music video and re-remind the watchers that it is a 'professional' music video.

Shot List:
Location
- Party
- Leigh on Sea Marine Parade
- Beach hut in Thorpe Bay
- Arcades in Southend on Sea
- Robertos Ice cream in Southend on Sea
- Studio
- Bedroom
- Train station
Shot type
- A wide range of shot types including establishing and wide shots, close ups, mid shots, and screen through screens
Camera movement
- Once again, a wide range of camera movements - some static, some in motion, zoom ins and zoom outs
Props and Costumes required
- Phone
- Camera
- Ice cream
(Minimal props required - more of a focus on the talent themselves)
- Cohesive costumes - eg. in some shots all wear white top and jeans for all ages (to show that the couple are the same couple at different ages). Scarlett wears a dress in her studio shoot as following pop ballad conventions, the artists typically dress formal (matching the mood of the song), despite the informal studio setting - I would argue that this adds to the professionalism of the music video, and helps appeals to an up-market audience, exemplifying that the music video is also serious and aware that the underlying message is bittersweet and mature.
Ensure these sketches and shot lists are on your blogs before the end of term.
